MEET THE TEAM
Scott Cairns-Head instructor/Owner
I have always been an outdoorsy person. Having grown up in the Cotswolds around Gloucestershire. I always played in the woods as a child, this is where my respect and love of the wilderness started. Between 2015-2018 I began a long and hard journey to turn my passion for bushcraft into some recognised qualifications that I could use to start a bussiness. So I attended several NCFE accredited courses with John Rhyder's Woodcraft School. These courses include the NCFE level 3 Advanced Bushcraft Award, the NCFE level 4 in Wildlife ID & Tracking and the NCFE level 4 in applied Bushcraft taught by Phil Brooke (Head Instructor-Woodcraft School). I also worked a season at The Bushcraft Company in 2017. In 2019, I founded StayWild Natural History & Bushcraft in the hopes of inspiring others to be curious about the Natural world.
As a The Founder of StayWild, I excel at helping you take your wilderness skills to the next level. I believe in seeing the world in the most unique way possible, and I want to share my knowledge and passion for the natural world with all of those whom I Teach. When not teaching my own courses for Staywild I assist on courses for Westcountry Bushcraft based in Somerset.
